San Bernardino, Calif. – Roger Tate established Allen Engineering Contractor, Inc. on January 1, 2001. With over 25 years of construction industry experience, Tate’s expertise in land development, industrial renovation, new commercial construction, heavy highway and airport tarmac construction have added strong and proven practices to the operation.
In 2004 Bernie Jones became the vice president and partner of Allen Engineering Contractor, Inc. bringing with him over twenty years of industry experience. Jones’ diverse background includes: Building construction, wet and dry utilities, site work and a vast knowledge of government contracting adding depth and dimension to the Allen team.
The company became certified in SBA’s 8(a) Business Development program in December 2001. The 8(a) Business Development program was established in 1968 to provide opportunities to minority-owned small businesses. One of the advantages of certification in this program is the availability of Federal contracts with limited competition, or in some cases, contracts which are issued directly to the company. There are approximately 6,000 companies in this program nationwide. Certification is available to companies who establish that their owners are socially and economically disadvantaged.
Allen Engineering Contractor, Inc. is also certified as an SBA Hub Zone firm and holds a DBE. Specializing in design/build, force protection, new building construction, HVAC, electrical, painting, structural concrete, plumbing, land development, fire suppression and demolition the company has completed multiple projects for various government agencies and continues to build and develop strong relationships with all branches of the Department of Defense. With 65 employees and $12 million in revenues for 2005 they have increased their 8(a) contracts 900% in the last 4 years.
Roger Tate’s secret to success can be summarized in one word, “diligence.” He firmly believes in taking care of his employees and always strives and pushes for excellence.
